The Catalyst Universe

Countless millennia ago, the Empyreans – a race of beings that live above our visible dimension – created the Catalyst Tree. The Tree bore massive seeds, diamonds of pure, crystallized life energy. King Standric, the leader of all Empyreans, commissioned his followers to travel the cosmos with Catalyst Seeds and to plant them on whatever habitable planets they found. The stories of the many lives that grew from innumerable Catalyst Seeds spread across the stars comprise the Catalyst Universe.

On some worlds, the Empyreans completed their mission and returned to their homeworld of Serega. On other worlds, the Empyreans remained and intervened in the affairs of the intelligent lifeforms. Viewed as deities or summon spirits, these Empyreans acted on behalf of – or in opposition to – the beings they helped create. In other cases, Catalyst energy bonded with certain stones or minerals, imbuing them with properties that empowered their possessors.
